President of Montenegro in Kolašin
First of all, I wish to congratulate the Kolašin Day to all the citizens, councilors, Speaker of the Municipal Assembly and President of the Municipality of Kolašin. I wish to express my genuine satisfaction over all that was done between the two holidays. You have seen that indeed a lot was done and that one capital facility in Kolašin was put into operation. A bridge was built – an investment worthy two million and two hundred thousand euro, which Kolašin needs in many ways and which provides a genuine chance for a better traffic quality and a series of other purposes pertaining unequivocally to such a large infrastructure facility. I wish that the resources of Kolašin be used in the best manner. This town has great resources, it is a town of exceptional possibility for development and I am certain that, with good communication with the Government, with a momentum and encouragement from those who invest into the local government and, certainly, with the maximum commitment of the local government, these opportunities for a better living quality in Kolašin would be used.

Journalist’s question:
How do you comment on the SDP’s statement regarding the fact that the Liberal Party will join the DPS in these elections, and the SDP does not agree with that?

President’s answer:
My comment is that it is good that the Democratic Party of Socialists demonstrated its broadness. That it included the Liberal Party into its parliamentary club and expressed appreciation for that party which is unequivocally valuable from the aspect of its consistency and which will, I am assured, give strong contribution to the results in these elections. I think that it is a wise decision of the DPS and I understand that the Liberal Party is a party which will be undoubtedly engaged in the campaign to the maximum extent and give its full contribution.

Journalist’s question:
Mr. President, how serious opponent is the SNP in case of division and, of course, how do you comment on the possible split in this largest opposition party?

President’s answer:
I do not comment on what is going on at the opposition scene. The opposition itself will decide on how it will organize and run the campaign, and it is not up to me to comment on the actions and decisions of the opposition. I want the ruling structure to demonstrate all that we have seen today in Kolašin. What it has done during this time, regarding the infrastructure and improvement of working and living conditions and to show what I believe that it can show. That the upcoming period is the period of enhancement of economy, better opportunities for new jobs, new investments, unequivocally new framework for entrepreneurship and better living quality. So, I believe that it will be a promotion of the positive campaign. I advocate that the campaign be positive, and I believe that the ruling coalition will promote it in such manner, and I am certain that it will be the central content of the campaign which the DPS will run.

Journalist’s question:
Are you concerned by the new fuel prices?

President’s answer:
Of course, I am concerned by all the new prices. All the new prices affect the citizens’ standard and I am assured that by the new programmes of the Government policy which are directed towards social protection, all it takes will be done to provide for social protection of the citizens. I am rejoiced by the fact that there are visible results of the new investments and an evident tackling of the economic problems. I expect that the Government will be oriented to the social problems to the maximum extent, especially to those jeopardized by the pricing policy.
