President Vujanović in Pljevlja
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović attended today the ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly which was held on the occasion of the Municipality Day.

The President congratulated the citizens of Pljevlja, Councilors, President of the Assembly and President of the Municipality on the holiday and expressed his satisfaction for what had been done in Pljevlja. He expressed his expectation that the exceptional resources of Pljevlja would be used and that the better quality of life and better economic environment would be ensured in this town. There are many ambitious plans that are very realistic and realizable in many components along with good communication of the municipality, Government and all donors who are ready to help the local government through the organizations they are involved in. The President emphasized the expectation that Pljevlja would have its development which the Pljevljaís resources deserved.

Journalistís question:
How do you comment on the acquitting sentence for the Croatian generals?

Presidentís answer:
The President said that he did not have a need to comment on anything, but he principally stand for the need to inflict punishment for all crimes accordingly to the crime committed. He stated that during the ďOperation StormĒ and after it, there were crimes against civilians, there were many victims, about 200 thousand exiled. It is certain that the state policy of Croatia as it stated has a need to punish these crimes and find those who are guilty and enable to achieve what is an obligation of all. In view of all crimes that occurred in the areas of the former Yugoslavia and in the process of disintegration of Yugoslavia too, because of the victims that resulted from these crimes, because of the need to punish those who committed these crimes and because of the need to achieve the reconciliation, it is necessary for each state to undertake everything to find the perpetrators and punish accordingly.

Journalistís question:
Mr. President, how much the state will do for solving of infrastructure issues in Pljevlja, bringing the investors, which was also mentioned by the president of the municipality of Pljevlja in his speech, by this, we mean, first and foremost, the construction of the cement plant and Prijepolje-Pljevlja railway?

Presidentís answer:
The President stated that he talked with president Pupović earlier and also today about maximum exploitation of that resource. He said that the cement plant is not only the interest of Pljevlja but also Montenegro as a whole. There is a complete willingness within the Government to invite tender in accordance with the Law on Concession and to consider who the best partner for cement plant is and to enable them to enter into that investment as soon as possible. It is not only a duty of Pljevlja but also of the state and I think that we have to do everything through the joint activities to accelerate this procedure to invite tender as soon as possible and then we will see who the highest quality partner is, the President said.

Journalistís question:
How do you comment on the yesterdayís arrest of the policemen in Berane?

Presidentís answer:
The President answered that ďall detentions and deprivations of liberty aimed at detecting criminal offences and their perpetrators, I comment very positively and I think that all what is shedding light on crime considered is a great gain both for the Police and the authorities that will institute proceeding. All that is aimed at fighting against crime, whether general, economic or special, will have my utmost support and help. All that will be aimed at the quality of functioning of the rule of law state will absolutely have all logistics from the aspect of my competences.

Journalistís question:
As regard the presidential elections, what kind of result do you expect in Pljevlja?

Presidentís answer:
I think we should wait for the formation of the government, isnít the formation of the government more interesting than the presidential elections? Letís see what will happen when the government is formed and when it starts to work intensively and when we get the budget that will be good, both current and capital budget. To continue what the obligations of the European integration are, to hope that the twenty-fifth chapter will be open and I think it is important to do it during the Cypriot Presidency. And when the election is called, we will see, there are procedures within the parties, within the coalitions, first things first, therefore we will see.

Journalistís question:
But with regard to your part of Pljevljaís origin, what do you expect?

Presidentís answer:
I have always had excellent support in Pljevlja, but we will see who will be the candidate. If Pljevlja will be one to decide we will see whom Pljevlja prefers. I am very pleased that I have always had in Pljevlja both support and understanding.
I think that we should work on exploitation of the resources of Pljevlja. The second block of the thermal power plant is the big chance and the first block of thermal power plant, which deserves a higher degree of protection, is also a big chance, and district heating of Pljevlja is a big obligation. We really have resources here and we have to do everything in order to keep people, to return people here. The life and quality of this area deserve that all of us have to do everything in order to live in Pljevlja in a more quality way.
