Podgorica, President Vujanović received the Adjutant General of the Maine Army National Guard
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the Adjutant General of the Maine Army National Guard, James Campbell.

The President Vujanović expressed his respect and satisfaction over the past cooperation between Montenegro and Maine, in particular cooperation at the military and political level. He assessed the Program of state partnership between Montenegro and Maine as an important and indispensable element of strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two states. The contribution of the National Guard and its units to the reform of the Army and promotion of interoperability is also important for Montenegro while it makes efforts to achieve the demanding NATO standards as an aspirant country. The President pointed to the need of promotion of cooperation in the field of economy, promoting the capacity of Montenegro in terms of reception of potential investments from the state of Maine.

During the cordial and friendly talks the General Campbell informed the President Vujanović of the past results of a fruitful cooperation in the framework of partnership program between the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro and Maine National Guard. General Campbell especially informed the President about the future activities planned in the sector of support to further reforms of the Army of Montenegro, preparations for participation in the peace-keeping missions and programs of joint exercises and military-defense training. He expressed his special gratitude and respect for the successful participation of Montenegro in the NATO ISAF mission in Afghanistan and other peace-keeping missions.

The President Vujanović and General Campbell also talked about plans and activities to further promote the bilateral cooperation.

The U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, Mrs. Sue K. Brown was also present at the meeting.
