President Vujanovićís message on the occasion of the Academy held in dedication to the International Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Holoca
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, sent a message to the Association of the People»s Liberation War and Anti-fascists of Montenegro and to the Jewish Community in Montenegro on the occasion of marking the International Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Holocaust:

The day of memory of the victims of Holocaust, that is marked all over the world as a warning for mankind, is always an opportunity to remind ourselves of the horrors that fascism and racist ideology brought, and of devastating fact for the civilisation that during World War II, in the course of making of that biggest historical evil, over eleven million people were killed, six million of these were Jewish, and more than a million were children.

We are proud to point out that our anti-fascism, which represents a firm vertical of revival and duration of the state of Montenegro, gave in national liberation fight (NOB), its historically recognised contribution to the fight for permanent eradication of this evil that with its character and horrifying scope of crime marked European history of the 20th century. We still do that today, firmly committed to build a multi-ethnic society, with general protection of human rights and respect of peculiarities of all the citizens of Montenegro.

That is why, with compassion towards the victims of Holocaust, I express my respect for your organisation and the legacy of anti-fascism that you preserve, as well as for the fact that you consistently and resolutely promote those values, with the aim that the horrors on which the civilised world, with one voice said: never again, do not repeat.
