Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Ireland Presents Letter of Credence to President of Montenegro
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today in Cetinje Letters of Credence from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Montenegro, Kevin Dowling.

President Vujanović expressed respect for friendly relations of Montenegro and Ireland, and the gratitude for unselfish support of Ireland in the process of European integration of Montenegro. On this occasion, the President presented overall integration priorities of Montenegro, while pointing out its stable approach in the process of adjusting to the standards of the European Union and readiness for continuous engagement towards acceleration of the accession process. He also stressed the need for promotion of the overall cooperation, particularly in the economic area, on the level of close state relations. He called for further improvement of the contractual basis between the two countries as the basis for the continuous increase of cooperation.

Ambassador Dowling expressed respect for the accomplishments of Montenegro in the European integration and overall progress, stressing the importance of their regional dimension. He also offered further support of Ireland to Montenegro in its accession process to the European Union, as Ireland holds the Presidency of the European Union. By agreeing with the need to increase economic cooperation, the Ambassador of Ireland expressed his readiness to assist Montenegro in terms of improvement of its investment environment.
