Podgorica, President received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Titus Corlatean.

The President reiterated his condolences over the recent traffic accident on behalf of the citizens of Montenegro and in his own name and wished a rapid recovery to the injured ones.

The President thanked for the support of Romania to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro convinced that it would be continued. He pointed out the significance of opening the 23rd and 24th chapter for our European integration as well as for the overall integration process in the region, believing that Romania would provide its strong support to opening of these two chapters, so that the conditions for continuation of accession negotiations are created in that way.

The President expressed his expectation that in the forthcoming NATO Summit for enlargement, Romania would support invitation to Montenegro for membership, in which case our achievements would be recognized in this important integration.

He emphasized his satisfaction over the comprehensive bilateral relations in all the fields and stated his expectation that the same would be continued and promoted especially in the field of economy.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Titus Corlatean reiterated his gratefulness to the citizens of Montenegro and all the competent authorities and services for the assistance offered on the occasion of the recent traffic accident.

The Minister Corlatean pointed out that Montenegro was a role model in the region and it should receive the support for its Euroepan and Euro-Atlantic integration, emphasizing readiness of Romania to strongly support the process. In addition, he shared his assessment that promotion the overall relations may be promoted, convinced that there is wide room for cooperation in the field of economy, which should be used to the maximum extent.
