President Vujanović in Rožaje
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović attended the session of the Municipal Assembly of Rožaje, which was held on the occasion of the Municipality Day.

The President congratulated the holiday to the citizens, councilors, President of the Assembly and mayor, expressing his respect for the activities implemented so far. He emphasized the significance of completion of the great capital project of water supply and numerous investments in the infrastructure, which confirmed the efforts made by the local governance to promote the quality of life in Rožaje. The President stated his conviction that dynamics of the planned projects implementation would be successful, along with continued good communication with the Government and international organizations. He expressed his gratefulness for the investments of TIKA in Rožaje.
The President stated also his conviction that Rožaje’s great resources would be used for citizens’ better quality of life.

Journalist’s question:
What is your comment on the statement of Ranko Krivokapić that Committee for Consecration of the Cathedral represents a party delegation?

Response of the President:
The Committee has continued, I would say, an already established tradition of relation to great church and religious events. We have recently marked twelve centuries anniversary of transfer of the relics of Saint Tryphon, and the Honorary Committee has been composed of the Minister of Culture and the President of the Municipality on behalf of the town of Kotor. In august this year we also marked the eight centuries anniversary of the Monastery Đurdjevi Stupovi, the Honorary Committee was composed of the Minister of Health and President of the Municipality of Berane on behalf of the Municipality. We are now marking seventeen centuries of the Edict of Milan, the Cathedral will be consecrated and the Government appointed its members from the Government and the Mayor will attend on behalf of the Capital City. I think that we follow a good logic of respecting the greatest religious events in Montenegro, which obviously provoke great interest of the International Community, as well. This event provokes high interest, in particular. I think that the Government, following that model, determined composition of the Honorary Committee by appointment of its representatives as well as the mayor of the city as host of the event.

Journalist’s question:
The Metropolitan Mihailo said that Montenegrin church was not involved in the event?

Response of the President:
The Metropolitan sent an open letter to the Patriarchs. They are the ones to be addressed and I expect that someone of them would state the reasons for which the Metropolitanate, which will host the event, sent such an invitation and determined such composition of the invitees.
