Bratislava, Summit of the Heads of States
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, is staying in Bratislava, where he participates in the 18th Summit of the Heads of States of the Central European Countries.

I would like to express respect to all the participants at the Summit, and I especially thank the President of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Mr. Ivan Gašparovič as the host of the 18th Central Europe Summit of Heads of State for the excellent organization of the Summit.

It gives me pleasure to express my greatest respect for the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the sovereign Slovak Republic. We are very glad to see the progress made by Slovakia in this period. Slovakia is not only an example of a successful transition, but a prominent member of the European Union with a strong economy which provides a high level of prosperity to its citizens. more

Bratislava: Vujanović-Nikolić
President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović had a meeting with the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, today in Bratislava.

Presidents Vujanović and Nikolić pointed out that they supported the activities of the two Governments aimed at joint projects and interests, with a special emphasis on the infrastructural projects.

Presidents stated that cooperation should be intensified in all spheres of economy, bearing in mind the joint interest of use of all the resources for ensuring a better economic environment. more

Slovakia: Vujanović-Josipović
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, expressed satisfaction over the continuity of very constructive and open cooperation of the two states, following the talks with the President of Croatia, Ivo Josipović. Along with the congratulations and appreciation expressed to Croatia for the upcoming EU membership, the President stated that it was a great achievement of Croatia and a great value added to the region.

He was pleased to accept the invitation to be the guest of President Josipović and to participate in the important historical gathering in Zagreb.

He expressed his belief that Croatia would continue to be an important promoter of further integration in this area as well as open, sincere and full cooperation.

President Josipović pointed out that Croatia would continue to provide great support to Montenegro, on its European and Euro-Atlantic path. more

Bratislava, Vujanović-Radmanović
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nebojša Radmanović, during the talks in Bratislava, stated with pleasure that the relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina can be a role-model in the region.

Vujanović pointed out that relations are friendly and comprehensive in all areas and that there are no open issues. He pointed out that further contribution should be attached to improvement of economic cooperation in the interest of the economies of the two states.

Chairman Radmanović expressed his satisfaction because Montenegro is making big steps towards the European and Euro-Atlantic integration. He stated that the progress of Montenegro is important for the entire region. more

Bratislava, Vujanović-Pahor
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, and President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, expressed satisfaction over the continuous strengthening of inter-state relations, during the bilateral talks today in Bratislava.

President Vuijanović expressed special gratitude for the continuous support of Slovenia to the European and Euro-Atlantic path of Montenegro, especially taking into account the fact that Slovenia is a contact state for NATO integration of Montenegro.
President expressed belief in near opening of Chapters 23 and 24, following the expected Constitutional amendments, which would give a strong impetus to further accession process of Montenegro to the EU, as well as the expectation that Slovenia would continue its comprehensive engagement and support.

President of Slovenia, Pahor pointed out that integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures has a special value not only for Montenegro and the region, but also for the EU and the NATO.

He stated that Slovenia is ready to keep on transposing its experiences to Montenegro and that, as a good connoisseur of Montenegro and the Region, promote the values of integration processes. more

Bratislava – Vujanović – Ivanov
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović and President of the Republic of Macedonia Đorđe Ivanov assessed today, during the bilateral meeting held in Bratislava, that governmental relations were comprehensive and may serve as an example in the region.

The President Vujanović expressed his expectation that the good relations would continue and be a stimulus to better economic cooperation. He stated that he expected that organization of an Economic Forum between the two states would contribute to deepening the economic ties. They jointly stated that there were significant potentials in the field of tourism. They acknowledged the agreement signed by Diplomatic Academies of the two states.

The President of Macedonia Đorđe Ivanov agreed that good governmental relations should be used for improvement of economic cooperation.

He said that Macedonian citizens were interested in Montenegrin tourist destinations, and opening charter flights between Montenegro and Macedonia would give a significant stimulus to it. more

Bratislava, Meeting of the President Vujanović and Gašarovič
President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović participates in the 18th Central Europe Summit of Heads of State, which is being held on 12 and 13 June, 2013 in Bratislava, at the invitation of the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič.

On the first day of his stay in Bratislava the President Vujanović had a bilateral meeting with the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič. The Presidents stated excellent governmental relations and expressed their satisfaction over the upturn trend in economic cooperation development.

The President Vujanović expressed his gratefulness for the continuous support and active contribution of Slovakia to the progress of Montenegro on its way towards the EU and NATO accession.
He pointed to the significance of potentials in the field of economy and particularly in the field of energetics, small and medium size enterprizes and tourism. He emphasized that excellent governmental relations have a gradually increasing effect on the economic cooperation.

The President Gašparovič congratulated to Montenegro on its achieved results in the negotiation process with the EU. Participation of the President Vujanović in the Summit is one more indicator of the European policy of Montenegro said the President Gašparovič and added that Montenegro may rely also in the future on the full support of Slovakia in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović received Philip Reeker
Today the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Mr. Philip Reeker.

During the talks the President Vujanović expressed his high respect for the intensive and comprehensive partner relations between Montenegro and the US and expressed his gratefulness for the US’s continuous support to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes of Montenegro. In that context, the President pointed to the full dedication of Montenegro to these strategic foreign-policy priorities of the State, emphasizing continuity of the reforms process in Montenegro on the broadest social level. In the field of bilateral economic cooperation he assessed the Business Forum in Baltimore as successful and expressed expectation that American investors would be further interested in investing in the economy of Montenegro.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Mr. Philip Reeker congratulated to the President Vujanović on his re-election as President of Montenegro, reminding of the congratulatory message of the US President Barack Obama and US Secretary of State John Kerry. He pointed out further US support to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes of Montenegro, emphasizing the positive effects of success of these processes at the regional level. Mr. Reeker pointed to the important role of the small states in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan and valuable contribution of the Army of Montenegro to stabilization and progress of that state. Speaking of Montenegrin aspirations towards membership in the NATO, Mr. Reeker expressed his belief that integration was valuable for the state’s security and it was an important stimulus to the investors to invest in its economy. more

Podgorica, the National Council for Drug Abuse Prevention
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, chaired the session of the National Council for the Drug Abuse Prevention, which was held in the high school “Slobodan Škerović”.

The Council adopted the Ministry of Interior’s report on the activities to combat drug abuse in 2012 and during first 5 months of 2013. The interstate border cooperation model that was implemented through joint activity of border services of Montenegro and Albania on the Sukobin-Murićani border crossing was affirmed as it showed high level of efficiency
.
The Ministry of Education’s report on activities carried out in the area of prevention of drug addiction among children and youth in the system of education was also adopted. Continuous and intensive cooperation of educational institutions and municipal offices for drug addiction prevention was recommended. Special significance of the subject "Healthy Lifestyles" for the pupils of elementary and secondary schools, as well as the importance of participation and support for the projects that promote preventive activities and cooperation with NGOs that are implemented within educational institutions was noted.

The report of the Institute of Public Health on the ESPAD survey conducted in 2011 - use of drugs, tobacco and alcohol among 16-year-olds in Montenegro was adopted. Based on this research, it is concluded that the use of drugs among high school students was present to a much lesser extent compared to the European average, but as the studies have shown a tendency of increase of psychoactive substances use among high school students in Montenegro, preventive activities should be vigorously pursued. It was spoken in support of marking June 26th - International Day against Drug Abuse in the Parliament of Montenegro, within the framework of the Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and to carry out the presentation of the ESPAD survey.

The proposals on NGO cooperation and participation in the work of the National Council were discussed. The proposal to hold a meeting, based on NGO’s public invitation, in order to agree on and propose a model of further cooperation and participation in the work of the National Council, was also supported. more

President of Montenegro Receives the Representatives of Cultural – Humanitarian Organisation and Economic Cooperation
President Vujanović received the representatives of Cultural - humanitarian association Bosnia-Sandzak, headed by Mr Zahit Büyükbayrak, as well as the representatives of the Federation of Associations for Cultural and Economic Cooperation of Turkey with the Balkans, headed by Mr Safet Erde, Vice-President of the Federation. During cordial talks, President Vujanović pointed out that very good political relations between Turkey and Montenegro are also followed by good economic relations. Arrival of Turkish investors such as Gintaš and Tosyali Group, than the opening of the direct airline Podgorica - Instabul and their positive experiences are the best invitation to investors for further investments in Montenegro. It was also confirmed that our Diaspora in Turkey can play an important role in the future economic cooperation.

The guests expressed their satisfaction over the meeting the President and said that Montenegro has a high quality legal framework for foreign investors. They expressed their willingness to encourage further economic cooperation through their Associations. They stated particular interest in business zones, where a large number of small and medium enterprises in Turkey would find an interest to invest. more

Statement
National Council for the Prevention of Drug Abuse, chaired by the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, in line with the commitment to continuously support the activities of non-governmental organisations in the field of prevention of drug abuse, urges NGOs dealing with these issues, to each delegate one representative to attend the meeting and present a proposal of participation in the work of the State Council for the purpose of improving the modality of cooperation with the State Council.

The meeting will be hosted on the 7th June 2013, in Podgorica, High School "Slobodan Škerović", beginning at 13h.

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives Professor Rainer Lindner
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today professor Rainer Lindner, Executive Director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.

During the talks, President Vujanović expressed high appreciation for the intensive and comprehensive cooperation between Montenegro and the Federal Republic of Germany, stating that economic relations are its important segment and expressing appreciation for the contribution of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations in this field, and particularly for the personal engagement of its Executive Director – professor Lindner. He pointed out to the continuity of his cooperation with the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations and preceding valuable meetings with professor Lindner: in December 2011 at the business forum in Berlin during the official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, in October 2012 on the occasion of the visit of the European Federalist Movement to Montenegro, and during the same month at the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations in Berlin, and in November 2012 at the panel of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations held in Budva within the meetings of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry.

President Vuajnović pointed out to the state priorities of Montenegro, emphasizing that its economic progress and prosperity of its citizens take a particularly important place among them. He stressed the readiness and need of Montenegro for investments from Germany, as well as further development of overall bilateral economic relations.

Professor Lindner proposed holding of a regional conference on economic cooperation in Montenegro over the next year, reminding of the exceptional cooperation of Montenegro with the neighbours and its high credibility in the region. He stated that the opportunities for development of economic cooperation are vast; emphasizing as very favourable the fact that Montenegro has built a good relationship with big markets in the world.

President Vujanović awarded a high decoration, the order of the Montenegrin Flag of the 2nd degree to professor Lindner for exceptional personal contribution to the Montenegrin-German relations, especially in the field of economic cooperation.

Podgorica, President Vujanović received the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Latvia
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Latvia led by its President Gunars Kurtis, which is in its several-days official visit to the Constitutional Court of Montenegro

The President of Montenegro expressed his high respect for the international activity of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro in the framework of which the visit of the Constitutional Court of Latvia was organized, assessing such cooperation as significant for promotion of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro and our state, but at the same time for exchange of experience of the two courts. The exchange of experience has a special value on the occasion of the constitutional complaints and human rights and freedoms protection in which there is involved international arbitration, and for which adjustment of court practises is very useful.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Latvia stated his high evaluation of cooperation with the Constitutional Court of Montenegro and sent compliments for that court’s work, expressing willingness to continue the cooperation, which he assessed as mutually useful.

Podgorica, President Vujanović received the Ambassador Veselin Šuković
The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović received today the newly appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to the Holy See, Veselin Šuković, just before his departure to Rome.

The President Vujanović informed the Ambassador Šuković of the need of Montenegro to promote and strengthen the close relations of Montenegro and the Holy See through his diplomatic mission.

Assessing the centuries long relations of Montenegro and the Holy See as comprehensive and intensive, and ratification of the Basic Agreement between Montenegro and Vatikan as a good model of cooperation between the State and other religious communities in Montenegro, the President emphasized the support of the state of Montenegro to the ecumenical dialogue, pointing out in that respect the positive approach of the Catholic Church in Montenegro. He also expressed his high respect to the previous Ambassador to the Holy See, Antun Sbutega, for his successful work and representation of Montenegro and promotion of cooperation between Montenegro and the Holy See and Sovereign Order of Malta.

The Ambassador Šuković stated that he made extensive and intensive preparations, getting familiar in detail with the past cooperation between Montenegro and the Holy See, providing also information about his plans during his engagement. more

Cetinje, President of Montenegro received letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of India
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received the letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of India, Ramachandran Swaminathan, who will perform his duty in Montenegro on a non-residential basis.

During the meeting the President Vujanović stated his satisfaction over the friendly relations of Montenegro and India. He emphasized the need to further promote the overall cooperation, especially in the field of economy. The President pointed to the necessity of completion of the contractual basis for the purpose of the economic cooperation promotion.

The Ambassador Swaminathan agreed that is was necessary to promote the economic and overall cooperation, pointing to the interest of Indian capital for investments in Montenegro and steps to be taken by both sides in that respect. more
