Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives the Ambassador of Italy on a Farewell Visit
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today on a farewell visit the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Montenegro, Sergio Barbanti.
During the talks, President Vujanović expressed special satisfaction over comprehensive and intensive relations of Montenegro and Italy. On a personal level, he recognized valuable contribution of the Ambassador Barbanti to the development of cooperation between the two states, especially in the economic field. The President also thanked Italy for its support to Montenegro in its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, recognizing the personal contribution of the Ambassador Barbanti as significant in that regard as well.

Ambassador Barbanti expressed satisfaction with the progress Montenegro achieved during the performance of his high duty, and expressed the expectation of further success of Montenegro in the integration processes, as well as in terms of prosperity of its citizens.

Recognizing the enormous personal contribution of Ambassador Barbanti to the close relations of Montenegro and Italy, President Vujanovic awarded him with the Order of the Montenegrin Flag of the Second Degree. more

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Montenegro
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, welcomed today in Podgorica, with highest state and military honours, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

After bilateral meeting, Presidents Vujanović and Aliyev gave their statements to the media.

President Vujanović, emphasised that today, Montenegro had a special pleasure to have the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Aliyev and his esteemed delegation for its guest on an official visit. more

Podgorica, President of Montenegro Receives the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today in Villa Gorica the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vjekoslav Bevanda, whose official visit to Montenegro is in progress.

During the talks, President Vujanović expressed special satisfaction over the close friendly relations of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina in all areas, which are confirmed by the official visit of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BH, Mr. Vjekoslav Bevanda. He highly assessed the recent official visit of the then Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Bakir Izetbegović as a contribution to the relations of the two countries, and a visit that has undoubtedly been for the purpose of confirmation and further improvement of bilateral relations. The President expressed his expectation that the conclusion of the agreement on border and dual citizenship, which are conformed and whose signing is in the stage of technical process, will take place as soon as possible.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BH, Bevanda agreed with the assessment of high level of close relations, pointing out that those relations are a good example of the region. He expressed his belief that room for improving cooperation in economic sphere, especially in the area of energy, transport and tourism, should be used. President Vujanović Receives the Newly-Appointed Ambassador Slavica Milačić
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today on a final consultative talk, before assuming the duty of the newly-appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Austria, Head of the Permanent Mission of Montenegro to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and international organizations of the United Nations system, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Slovak Republic, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Czech Republic, Slavica Milačić.

President Vujanović informed Ambassador Milačić of the need to, through her diplomatic mission, promote the support of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro. The President characterized the relations between Montenegro and these states as traditionally close and comprehensive expressing hope that the Embassy of Montenegro in Vienna will be fully dedicated to the promotion of friendship and to achievement of a higher level of overall cooperation. He emphasized the need to intensify cooperation with these countries in the economic area.

Recognizing the cooperation between Montenegro and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe as substantial and successful, the President conveyed the affirmative attitude of Montenegro to the principles and activities of this organization.

Ambassador Milačić made known her personal commitment to promotion of cooperation between Montenegro and the receiving states, the OSCE and the organizations of the United Nations based in Vienna, in the atmosphere of friendship and complete understanding and that she will put all her efforts in order to, already comprehensive relations become further intensified.

At the end of the talks, President Vujanovic expressed respect for the achievements of Ambassador Dragana Radulović during the performance of her responsible duty at the Embassy of Montenegro in Vienna. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today in Podgorica Abolghassem Delfi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Montenegro, on a farewell visit.

During the talks, President Vujanović expressed respect for the Ambassador’s personal contribution to the improvement of cooperation between the two countries. In that sense, the President pointed out the positive reception of the presentation of Iranian culture in Podgorica, during 2010. He stressed the need to establish contacts between the Chambers of Commerce of the two states in order to identify the opportunities for economic cooperation.

On his part, Ambassador Delfi expressed his respect for the tradition of inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony in Montenegro, pointing it out as a positive example in the Balkan region. He emphasized Iran’s interest in enhancing the cooperation, and assessed the completion of informational basis in terms of its possibilities and priorities during his tenure, as a valuable result. more

President Vujanović Receives the Newly-Appointed Ambassador Zorica Marić – Đorđević
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today mr Zorica Marić – Đorđević, the newly-appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to the United Nations Human Rights Council and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the World Trade Organization, before her departure to Geneva.
President Vujanović stressed the importance of Montenegrin membership in the World Trade Organization and the establishment of relations at a level of permanent representative – the Ambassador. He pointed out that this institution has a special importance in the following period, given the expected opening of negotiations on services, negotiations on accession to the Agreement on Government Procurement and other matters of importance for further liberalization and transparency of Montenegro’s foreign trade exchange with the most important partners.
President Vujanović also expressed the importance of obligations, that Montenegro, as a new member of Human Rights Council assumes for the following period, and gave full support to the realization of these obligations in cooperation with competent ministries in the Government of Montenegro, NGO’s and the Ombudsman Institution.

President Vujanović gave full support to the elements of the mandate presented by Ambassador Marić – Đorđević, and expressed his conviction that she will responsibly and successfully perform this duty. more

Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Ireland Presents Letter of Credence to President of Montenegro
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today in Cetinje Letters of Credence from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Montenegro, Kevin Dowling.

President Vujanović expressed respect for friendly relations of Montenegro and Ireland, and the gratitude for unselfish support of Ireland in the process of European integration of Montenegro. On this occasion, the President presented overall integration priorities of Montenegro, while pointing out its stable approach in the process of adjusting to the standards of the European Union and readiness for continuous engagement towards acceleration of the accession process. He also stressed the need for promotion of the overall cooperation, particularly in the economic area, on the level of close state relations. He called for further improvement of the contractual basis between the two countries as the basis for the continuous increase of cooperation.

Ambassador Dowling expressed respect for the accomplishments of Montenegro in the European integration and overall progress, stressing the importance of their regional dimension. He also offered further support of Ireland to Montenegro in its accession process to the European Union, as Ireland holds the Presidency of the European Union. By agreeing with the need to increase economic cooperation, the Ambassador of Ireland expressed his readiness to assist Montenegro in terms of improvement of its investment environment. more

President Vujanović Receives Letters of Credence form the Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Jordan
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today in Cetinje Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Saker Malkawi.

During the talks, President Vujanović expressed respect for the friendly relations of Montenegro and Jordan, pointing out the need for further promotion of cooperation between the two states, especially in the field of economy. He identified the need for creating contractual basis between two states, while stressing the importance of interstate agreements for the promotion and improvement of bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Malkawi offered assurances of the readiness of personal involvement in the promotion of relations between two friendly countries, agreeing with the need to increase overall, particularly economic, cooperation. He also delivered to President Vujanović assessments of his government in terms of current political affairs surrounding Jordan, and presented the reform processes that Jordan undertakes. more

President Vujanović Receives Letters of Credence from the Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Kuwait
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today in Cetinje, Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of Kuwait, Fawzi A. Al-Jasem.

President Vujanović expressed respect for friendly relations of Montenegro and Kuwait, identifying wide space for improvement of mutual cooperation, while stressing the need for enlargement of economic cooperation, as well as comparative advantages of Montenegro for investments from Kuwait. In that sense, the President pointed out the capacities for investments and ports and duty-free zone in Bar.

Ambassador Al-Jasem agreed with the need for improvement of bilateral cooperation between two friendly states, especially in the area of economy. In terms of investment capacities of Kuwait, he stressed the availability of favourable credit arrangements for infrastructure projects in Montenegro in the framework of intergovernmental cooperation, as well as the willingness of private Kuwait investors for direct investments in our economy. more

President Vujanović congratulated Serbia’s Statehood Day
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, on the occasion of Serbia’s Statehood Day, 15th February.

President Vujanović congratulated the holiday to the citizens of Serbia and President Nikolić and pointed out that close and friendly relations throughout history and in the present time oblige us to create such future in the interest of our citizens, economies and good messages from the region, in which Montenegro and Serbia have to represent an example of the most affectionate and lasting partnerships. The President stated that recent official visit of President Nikolić to Montenegro was a confirmation of such relations of our close countries and a new contribution to the enlargement of space for joint cooperation. more

President Vujanović Visits the Injured Boy
The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, visited today with the director of KBC CG Podgorica, Dr. Milan Mijović, doctors and medical staff, the boy who was injured in a mass brawl in the courtyard of the "Slobodan Škerović" high school.

The President expressed his satisfaction with the doctor’s evaluation that the health condition of the injured boy is stable. On that occasion, he expressed his respect for the medical staff of the Clinical Center, whose timely intervention prevented health complications for the injured boy and ensured his significant recovery.

The President stated that he respects the reaction of the family of the boy who is suspected to have caused bodily injuries to his peer that night and reported regret and concern for the health condition of the injured and the need for efficient and fair law enforcement.

The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, emphasized the expectation that the entire community will make every effort that these and similar incidents, with always possible tragic consequences, never happen again. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives the NATO Member States Ambassadors
Today in Villa Gorica, President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received a delegation of Ambassadors accredited to NATO headquarters in Brussels, consisting of Andrej Benedejčič, Slovenian Ambassador, Boris Grigić, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Jean-Jacques Welfring, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Frantisek Kasicky, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic and Vladimir Gasparič, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Montenegro.

During the talks, President Vujanović expressed satisfaction over the visit of a delegation of Ambassadors to NATO in the framework of intense activities in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro. The President stressed the importance of this integration process for Montenegro in terms of regional stability, economic perspective and political appraisal. In this context, he elaborated on the regional dimension of the state policy of Montenegro, stressing the importance of Montenegro as the factor of stability and its contribution to the restoration of political and economic relations in the region. He expressed readiness of Montenegro to offer further contribution to the global fight against terrorism and preservation of peace and stability in the context of NATO accession, both at bilateral level and in joint activities of regional initiative A5.

On their part, the delegation of Ambassadors informed the President with regard to the priorities of NATOČs engagement on a global scale, as well as with the process of internal restructuring of the Alliance. The Ambassadors expressed their satisfaction over Montenegro’s previous progress in the NATO integration and achieved reforms, emphasizing the importance of the implementation of the Communication Strategy aimed at better understanding of the importance of Euro-Atlantic integration for Montenegro and the whole region of the Western Balkans. more

President of Montenegro Receives Ambassador of Israel
Today in Podgorica, the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received Ambassador of Israel, Yossef Levy.

During the talks, President Vujanović expressed his high respect for the close relations between Montenegro and Israel, pointing out to the need of their full promotion of economic and overall cooperation, and noted with a pleasure its upward trend. The President described as valuable the contribution of the Jewish Community in Montenegro to the relations between the two states, as well as to the multi-ethnic and multi-confessional harmony of our state. He also presented the regional dimension of the foreign policy of Montenegro, stressing its great accomplishments in development of good-neighborly relations and close cooperation with all countries of the region.

Expressing his satisfaction over the close relations between the two states, Ambassador Levy, during the talks, pointed out his personal readiness for further efforts towards the increase of the cooperation between them, particularly in the filed of economic relations. more

President Vujanović Receives Ambassador of Japan in Farewell Visit
The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović received today Ambassador of Japan, Toshio Tsunozaki in a farewell visit.

President Vujanović expressed his respect for friendly relations between Montenegro and Japan, expressing the gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for implemented projects of support to the development of Montenegro. The further promotion of strong state relations, the President recognized in an increase of economic cooperation and intensification of investments from Japan to Montenegro. In this respect, he presented the benefits that Montenegro offers to foreign investors. Furthermore, the President shared his satisfaction with Ambassador of Japan over the constructive approach of Montenegro to the promotion of good neighborliness and cooperation in the Western Balkans region.

Ambassador Tsunozaki referred to the years when he discharged the duties of Ambassador of Japan in Montenegro and expressed his respect for the success Montenegro made during that period. He underlined that the bilateral political relations are excellent and expressed his hope that Montenegro will continue with good dynamics in implementation of its European and Euro-Atlantic goals. Ambassador thanked also for a sincere sympathy of the Montenegrin citizens for the people of Japan on occasion of the tragedy caused by tsunami during 2011. more
