Monaco, President Vujanović Meets Prince Albert II of Monaco
At the invitation of H.R.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, is staying in an official visit to the Principality of Monaco.

President Vujanović was welcomed today by Prince Albert II, in front of the palace in Monaco with highest state and military honours.

After the welcoming ceremony, President Vujanović and Prince Albert II jointly expressed their satisfaction over the continuation of political dialogue at the highest level, as an additional impetus to strengthening of overall relations between the two states. President Vujanović and Prince Albert noted that relations between the two states are close and friendly and expressed readiness to jointly contribute to expansion of mutual cooperation. Both sides agree that drafting of relevant agreements should continue, with a view to strengthening the legal basis for cooperation.

President Vujanović and Prince Albert II had constructive talks on the opportunities for cooperation in the field of tourism, sustainable development and protection of the Mediterranean. On this occasion, the role and vision of Monaco concerning biodiversity, preservation of sea and harmonious coexistence of humans and environment for the purpose of establishing an efficient and durable biodiversity management system was emphasized, as well as the importance of the Blue Initiative and active participation in the Mediterranean Science Commission.

They exchanged opinions on current political issues and importance of progress of Montenegro in its European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes and continuous contribution of Montenegro in strengthening of regional stability and cooperation.

President Vujanović attended the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Montenegro to the Principality of Monaco, which was organized on the occasion of his official visit. more

President of Montenegro Congratulates Ksenija Milutinovic
President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović congratulated swimmer Ksenija Milutinović on gold and silver medals she won at the Balkan Junior Championship in Larissa, Greece.

Milutinović won the first gold medal at the Balkan championships in the history of the Montenegrin swimming.

Vujanović pointed out that this is the great success of the Montenegrin swimming and sports and wished our juniors a successful continuation of competition. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives President of Montenegrin Employers Federation and Associates
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the president of the Montenegrin Employers Federation (MEF) Predrag Mitrović and his associates.

Besides Mitrović, the MEF delegation was composed of: president of MEF assembly Ivan Mitrović, secretary general Suzana Radulović, vice-presidents Anita Mitrovic Milić and Željko Vidaković, member of the Managing Board Svetlana Vuksanović and member of the Executive Board Slobodan Mikavica.

The MEF representatives emphasized the values of tripartite social activities with the Government of Montenegro and the Labor Union as well as the results achieved on that basis. The MEF representatives informed President Vujanović of the state of business environment and the problems of operations of business entities to which special attention should be given in the upcoming period.

The results achieved on international level have been particularly stressed, as well as the MEF activities in the area of economic diplomacy which is primarily pursued through the cooperation with the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and International Labor Organization (ILO), Businesseurope, as well as with umbrella employers’ organizations in the region, the EU and world.

President Vujanović stressed his support to the planned activities of the MEF on a national and international level, assessing that they lead to the improvement of business environment, economic development and prosperity of all citizens of Montenegro. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives the Co-Rapporteur of the PACE Monitoring Committee, Kimmo Sassi
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today the co-rapporteur of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr. Kimmo Sassi.

President Vujanović expressed appreciation for the strong contribution of the Council of Europe in the design and implementation of reforms in Montenegro, which spurred the good dynamics of our integration process of joining the EU and NATO. Montenegro is now in the phase of intensive negotiations with the EU and of realistic expectation of getting an invitation to join NATO.

The President emphasized the commitment of Montenegro to continue cooperation with the Council of Europe in all fields, considering that the decision of the Committee of Ministers to abolish the monitoring mission in Montenegro poses a strong recognition of the success of the reforms and their implementation.

The Co-rapporteur of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Kimmo Sassi stated a very positive assessment of the progress of the integration of Montenegro in the reform processes. He particularly emphasized the role of Montenegro in the protection of minority rights and our determination to remain a reliable role-model in the region. Co-rapporteur Kimmo Sassi said that Montenegro has demonstrated readiness to ensure freedom of the press and noted as a positive example the recent detection of the perpetrators of attacks on independent daily ’’Vijesti’’ and the journalist of the daily ’’Dan’’. He also added that he expects the media to provide through professional activities a strong contribution to the advancement and democratization of Montenegro. more

President Vujanović in Ulcinj
The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović attended today the ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly of Ulcinj, which was held on the occasion of Municipality Day.

President Vujanović congratulated all the citizens of Ulcinj, Councilors, President of the Assembly and President of the Municipality on the Day of Ulcinj. He expressed his wishes for the realization of very ambitious projects the President of the Municipality Fatmir Djeka talked about.

The President expressed his belief that the implementation of joint projects will be achieved through active cooperation with the Government and that joint efforts will be made to stimulate the international actors who care about the development of the municipality. He pointed out that Ulcinj has outstanding resources which provide better quality of life, adding that especially tourism resources need to be promoted through the cooperation between Podgorica and Ulcinj and good communication with international community. President Vujanović: Honorary Consuls Promote our State Worldwide
President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, addressed Honorary Consuls of Montenegro at the first conference, which was held today in Podgorica in Villa Gorica.

Address by the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović:

Honorary Consuls of Montenegro have done much to improve bilateral relations and contributed to the strengthening of economic ties and the promotion of our country in the world, said the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović.

Vujanović thanked honorary consuls for their commitment, engagement and willingness to be honorary consuls, and help the promotion of Montenegro in the economic, cultural and other fields and contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations with their respective countries.

"I perceive your mission as a strong diplomatic mission of economic ambassadors aimed at supporting the economic and cultural development of Montenegro, and in that regard I express my great appreciation for the up-to-date work on ensuring, above all, the conditions for carrying out of the mission, and other activities that contribute to the promotion of Montenegro", he pointed out.

Vujanović is confident that in the future they will continue to strengthen the partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro in the interest of better quality of life of citizens, new investment and development of the overall relations.

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives Gerard Stoudmann, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Western Balkans
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today Gerard Stoudmann, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Western Balkans.

The President expressed his pleasure at the appointment of Gerard Stoudmann as Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Western Balkans, noting with appreciation his diplomatic experience and knowledge of our region.

Vujanović and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Stoudmann exchanged views on regional situation. Stoudmann expressed his appreciation for the achievements of Montenegro in European and Euro-Atlantic integration and for national policy that enabled Montenegro to be a good example of the region.

They agreed also on the important role of the OSCE and its activities, including its activities in our region. more

Defense and Security Council Holds Session
The session of the Defense and Security Council was held today in Podgorica. The session was chaired by the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović, and attended by the members of the Council: the Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ranko Krivokapić and the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Djukanović.

The session of the Council was attended, by invitation, by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Montenegro, Duško Marković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, Igor Lukšić PhD., Minister of Defense Prof. Dr. Milica Pejanović - Djurišić, the Director of the National Security Agency, Boro Vučinić MA and Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro Vice- Admiral, Dragan Samardžić.

The Defense and Security Council has promoted the normative and organizational activities in the security sector aimed at NATO integration.

The Council formulated the proposal of the decision on sending members of the Army of Montenegro to the European UnionČs military mission “European Union Training Mission” (EUTM) in Mali, which will be submitted to the Montenegrin Parliament for consideration under the simplified procedure. The proposal of decision envisages sending of an officer of the Army of Montenegro to this European Union’s mission, with the possibility of rotation.

The Council has made a decision on the regular promotion of Vice-Admiral Dragan Samardžić, Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, to the rank of Admiral.

The Council considered other issues within its competence. more

Cetinje, Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Australia Presents Credentials to President of Montenegro
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today at his residence in Cetinje the letters of credence from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia Julia Feeney, who will perform her duty in Montenegro on a non-residential basis.

President Vujanović wished Ambassador Feeney a successful mission, emphasizing friendly relations between Montenegro and Australia. He expressed his belief also for the possibility of establishing better economic relations between the two countries, pointing to the potentials of the Port of Bar and its free-trade zone, as well as already present interest of Australian businesses for investments in Montenegro. He particularly emphasized the interest of Australian company Balamara for lead and zinc mine in Mojkovac.

The President emphasized the importance of the Montenegrin national community in Australia, which is a good bridge of cooperation between the two states.

Emphasizing good relations between the two states, the Australian Ambassador Feeney stated the need to improve the current initiatives for cooperation in the area of economy and facilitate cooperation by interstate agreements. She agreed with the President that the Montenegrin community in Australia represents a good bridge of cooperation as well as that she greatly respects its ambition to create even stronger links with Montenegro. more

Cetinje, President of Montenegro Receives Credentials from Newly-Appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the letters of credence from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Chushev who will perform his duty in Montenegro on a non-residential basis.

President Vujanović pointed to the necessity of state contractual basis, which would improve economic cooperation between the two countries and, to this end, he proposed to consider priorities at the foreign ministerial level. He also emphasized the need for cooperation between the chambers of commerce of the two states and economic forums that would identify areas of economic cooperation.

Ambassador of Belarus Chushev agreed with the President on the necessity of interstate agreements with the aim of improving economic cooperation and, in particular, tourism cooperation.

President Vujanović wished Ambassador Chushev a successful mission in Montenegro. more

Cetinje, President Vujanović Receives Credentials from Newly-Appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today at his residence in Cetinje the letters of credence from the newly-appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Montenegro, Mladen Chervenyakov.

President Vujanović wished Ambassador Chervenyakov a successful mission, expressing pleasure at close relations between Montenegro and Bulgaria that are also confirmed by the recent official visit of the President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev. He stated his belief that the comprehensive state relations should be used to strengthen economic cooperation, bearing in mind there is ample room for it.

The President stressed his appreciation for the strong support provided by Bulgaria to Montenegro in its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, with expectation it will be continued.

The Ambassador of Bulgaria, Chervenyakov agreed with the President that the good state relations between Bulgaria and Montenegro should encourage, first of all, economic cooperation, stressing that his mission will be focused in this direction. He pointed out that Montenegro is a good role model of the region and that Bulgaria will continue to support our European and Euro-Atlantic integration. more

Mr. Kukan said everything that was to be said about the Center. WeČve heard all that was to be said about MontenegroČs European path. I am grateful for what he said about the Center and MontenegroČs European path. Respecting his words and respecting your time, I will just express gratitude that needs to be conveyed on this great occasion. First of all, thanks to the EU for helping to accelerate the negotiations of Montenegro for membership in the EU through this Centre. We are very satisfied with our pace so far. We opened and provisionally closed Chapters 25 and 26 relating to science and research, education and culture, and gave an opportunity to our institutions and organizations, and those who work in them, to get closer to the EU in sharing these great values in important areas of creativity. WeČve gotten the opportunity for our citizens who work in these areas of activity to achieve all the benefits of opening these two chapters. To have the opportunity to share their experiences, have the opportunity to receive financial support for their projects, to have an opportunity for new insights, in a word - to be a part of a large family in the fields of science, culture, research and education. President of Montenegro Passes Decision to Call Elections
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović passed a decision to call the elections:

Pursuant to Article 95 paragraph 1 item 10 of the Constitution of Montenegro (“Official Gazette of Montenegro”, Nos.1/07 and 38/13), Article 13 of the Law on Election of Councilors and Members of the Parliament (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Montenegro” Nos. 4/98, 5/98, 17/98, 14/00, 18/00, 9/01, 41/02, 46/02, 45/04, 48/06, 56/06, and “Official Gazette of Montenegro” Nos. 46/11, 14/14) and Article 42, paragraph 1 of the Law on Local Self-Government (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Montenegro” Nos. 42/03, 28/04, 75/05 and 13/06 and “Official Gazette of Montenegro” Nos. 88/09, 3/10, 38/12 and 10/14), I hereby pass the

D E C I S I O N

1. I hereby call elections for the councilors in the Assembly of the Capital City of Podgorica and Assemblies of Municipalities of Bar, Bijelo Polje, Danilovgrad, Žabljak, Kolašin, Plav, Plužine, Pljevlja, Rožaje, Šavnik, Gusinje.

2. The elections shall be held on the 25th of May 2014.

3. This decision shall enter into force on the day of its passing, and it shall be published in the “Official Gazette of Montenegro” and “Official Gazette of Montenegro – Municipal Ordinances”.
