Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus
The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs. Erato Kozakou Marcoullis who is paying an official visit to Montenegro.

During the talks, the Minister congratulated Montenegro on opening accession negotiations with the EU, expressing satisfaction with the pace of development of the process. She emphasized that Montenegro is good role model in the region and expressed the belief that Montenegro will continue to be so. She also expressed her expectation that Montenegro will demonstrate, during the Cypriot Presidency of the Union, high intensity of negotiation, in which it will have sincere and continuous support from Cyprus.

President Vujanović agreed with the assessment of his collocutor on the good bilateral relations, with a possibility of strengthening them in the field of economy, in the light of mutual readiness to use this area in a good way. more

Congratulatory messages sent to the President Vujanovic on the occasion of Statehood Day
On the occasion of Statehood Day of Montenegro, President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović received numerous congratulatory messages from the presidents of foreign states and sovereigns.

President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, points out in his congratulatory message:

“On behalf of the people of the United States of America I am sending the congratulations to you and the citizens of Montenegro on the occasion of the national day, July 13.

The United States appreciate its strong partnership with Montenegro, which has been continuously developed since Montenegro gained its independence six years ago. We highly appreciate your continuous support to the NATO efforts in Afghanistan and your commitment to preserve peace and stability in the Western Balkans. We want to strengthen our ties with Montenegro, which consolidates its positions in the Euro-Atlantic Community.”


The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Joachim Gauck emphasized in his congratulatory message:

“On the occasion of national holiday of Montenegro I am sending you and the citizens of Montenegro most cordial congratulations in my own name and on behalf of the citizens of Germany.

I am glad that Montenegro consistently conducts its pro-European politics, making further steps on its way to the European integration. It is confirmed and rewarded by the fact that the Council of Europe made the decision to open accession negotiations with Montenegro on June 26, 2012.

For implementation of other necessary reforms – especially in the field of rule of law and basic rights and in fight against corruption and organized crime – I wish a lot of strength and success to your country. Germany will continue to foster partner relations with Montenegro in the future and strongly support it on its way to the Euro-Atlantic structures.”


President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, congratulating the Statehood Day, emphasized:

“Please, receive the cordial congratulations on the occasion of Statehood Day of Montenegro. Russian-Montenegrin relations, which are founded on centuries long friendship, spiritual and cultural closeness of our peoples, have been developed successfully. I am convinced that further promotion of political dialogue, mutually useful cooperation in trade, scientific-technical, humanitarian and other fields fully corresponds to the interests of the two states, goes along the track which will provide for stability and welfare in the South-East Europe.

The congratulatory message of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Jintao, on the occasion of Statehood Day reads as follows:

Podgorica, President Vujanović received the Metropolitan of Montenegrin Orthodox Church
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the Metropolitan of Montenegrin Orthodox Church Mihailo and delegation of this church, writer Novak Kilibarda, historian Novak Adžić and lawyer Željko Tomović.

Metropolitan Mihailo and delegation members expressed their expectation that the state would pay more respect to the Montenegrin Orthodox Church in all the aspects of its activity and particularly in relation to its property status.

Respecting the believers of Montenegrin Orthodox Church and dedication of this church to the interests of Montenegro, the President expressed his publicly known position that secular character of the state of Montenegro obliges to respect separate activity of state and church, canonical hierarchy and full freedom of religion. In respect of the church property the President pointed to the Constitution of Montenegro, which was founded on the principle of recognition and protection of right to ownership as basic legal and economic value of modern states and rights. He emphasized the need and expectation that the principle would be respected as well as the fact that ownership relations may not be changed contrary to this constitutional principle. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović received the American delegation of Marshall Memorial Fellowship program
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the American delegation of Marshall Memorial Fellowship program which visit to Montenegro has been organized by the Center for Civic Education and the Executive Director of this center Daliborka Uljarević.

The President of Montenegro expressed his respect for this initiative of the Center for Civic Education, which has been implementing this program for five years now. In a long and open meeting the President presented to the members of this delegation the political and economic situation of Montenegro, its integration ambitions, relations with neighbors and situation in the region. Podgorica, President Vujanović received the newly appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to the FR Germany
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today Vera Joličić Kuliš, the newly appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to the Federal Republic of Germany.

The President expressed his satisfaction over the comprehensive and intensive inter-state relations of Montenegro and Germany, the state he officially visited last year in December, promoting the necessity of continuation of such inter-state relations. Thanks to the quality communication, Montenegro promoted its strategic European and Euro Atlantic integration ambitions in Germany, showing gratitude to Germany for understanding and strong promotion of the same. He expressed his expectation that German companies would be more present in Montenegro and numerous economic partnerships would take place expecting that the ambassador mission of Vera Joličić Kuliš would be dedicated to economic diplomacy aimed at quality promotion of the natural and economic resources of Montenegro and our readiness for better economic cooperation. He expressed his respect for the diplomatic work of the former Ambassador Vladimir Radulović.

The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of tragic consequences of floods in the south-east Russia. The telegram, inter alia, reads as follows:

“The news of enormous human losses in the south-east Russia floods has been received in Montenegro with deep sorrow. The citizens of Montenegro share the pain of the families of the dead and citizens of the friendly Russian Federation.

Sarajevo, President Vujanović met with the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina
During his visit to Sarajevo, where he was awarded “Golden Plaque” as “Personality of the region 2012”, awarded by the Agency for Election of the Best Managers and Entrepreneurs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, South-East and Central Europe, the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met with the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr. Bakir Izetbegović.

During the talks the President Vujanović expressed his satisfaction over the comprehensive and intensive inter-state relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, highly appreciating their significance for further development of the overall bilateral cooperation and in terms of great contribution to stability and progress of the entire region. He emphasized the need of further intensification of economic exchange, development of joint projects and connection of companies for the purpose of common appearance in the third markets, pointing to the existing capacities of such relation aimed at increase of employment and standard of citizens.

The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina congratulated to Montenegro on its successes in European and Euro-Atlantic integration, assessing that the same particularly contributed to the entire region as well as the whole process of European Union enlargement. He expressed his satisfaction of the high quality relations of the two states, with agreement that the economy had to be in the focus of bilateral and regional cooperation. more

Sarajevo, President Vujanović presented with the award “Personality of the Region 2012”
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović has been awarded tonight at the ceremony in Sarajevo with “Golden Plaque” as “Personality of the region 2012” by the Agency for Election of the Best Managers and Entrepreneurs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, South-East and Central Europe.

Director of the Agency Pane Skrbić emphasized that much credit goes to the President Vujanović for creation of positive climate for cooperation and friendship of the countries in the region, what opened and marked new paths for strengthening of the regional economic development, cooperation and prosperity.

He pointed to the intensive efforts made by the President Vujanović in terms of creating new room for cooperation, friendship and development which would make basis for the future and business development.

Skrbić emphasized that the President Vujanović gave the preference to economy over the politics, regional economic development and cooperation, as he was aware of the fact that only strong positive moves in the economy in all the states of the region and in each state respectively can take the region out of the general monotony.

“Correct pursue of politics in relation to the neighbors resulted in the fact that no unresolved inter-state issues with Montenegro, and such approach enabled Montenegro to be rapidly approaching the European Union and NATO membership”, said the President.

The President Vujanović expressed his respect to all the awarded, managers and companies, giving special importance to regional dimension of their business.

“Cooperation of companies provides for full valorization of region’s potentials and at the same time the quality development of economy of each state respectively. In that sense, regional awards represent both recognition and obligation that should encourage and stimulate others to cooperate regionally”, said the President.

The President Vujanović pointed out that Montenegro was oriented to promotion of regional cooperation and dedicated to make it more comprehensive and intensive through the inter-state agreements and concrete economic measures.

Montenegrin President invited the companies and their managers to propose quality inter-state contracts and concrete measures in order to stimulate regional cooperation along with intensive communication with the state.

Several hundreds of the most successful managers from around ten European states as well as numerous reputable representatives of political and cultural life of Sarajevo attended the ceremony of presenting the award to the President Vujanović.

The President of Croatia, Ivo Josipović was previously awarded with the Golden Plaque. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives Director-General of the EU Directorate for Enlargement
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović talked today in Podgorica with Mr. Stefano Sannino, the Director-General of the EU Directorate for Enlargement.

During the talks, President Vujanović assessed that obtaining the date for EU membership negotiations is a high recognition to Montenegro for intensive and quality preparations of negotiations, and a proof of its responsible attitude toward the integration process, but also an opportunity for the countries of the region to accelerate their activities in the European integration and demonstrate their commitment to the process of accession to the European Union.

Mr. Sannino stated his view that Montenegro absolutely deserved to open the negotiations for membership into the Union, and expressed his expectation of the full commitment of the negotiation team to all areas of negotiations, convinced that Montenegro will, just like so far, continue responsibly with its activities devoted to the good dynamics of the EU integration. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović Receives Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to PR China
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today the newly-appointed Ambassador of Montenegro to the People’s Republic of China, Branko Perović for the final consultative talks prior to assuming the duties of Ambassador.

President Vujanović informed Ambassador Perović on the need to promote traditional friendship between Montenegro and the People’s Republic of China through his diplomatic mission, expressing satisfaction over the state relation which gained in quality of economic cooperation. In this regard, he expressed his particular pleasure and appreciation to the People’s Republic of China for the support in restoration of our fleet, emphasizing a clear perspective on further progress in overall cooperation between the two countries, to which the diplomatic activity should be, first and foremost, devoted. The President also emphasized his gratitude to the previous Ambassador of Montenegro to the People’s Republic of China, Mrs. Ljiljana Tosković for a devoted and successful discharge of her responsible duties.

Ambassador Perović stated that he will be committed to the promotion of cooperation between the two countries, in an atmosphere of traditional friendship and full understanding, as well as that he will invest every effort in order to further intensify, the already comprehensive, relations to the mutual interest. more

Baku, President of Montenegro met with the President of Azerbaijan
The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, who participates in Crans Montana Forum 2012 in Baku, met today with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

In the course of cordial and friendly talks the two presidents analyzed the achievements of the political and economic cooperation of the two states and agreed that cooperation was developed on the principles of mutual interests for further strengthening of economic connections.
The President Vujanović expressed his respect for development achievements of Azerbaijan and congratulated to the President Aliyev on an excellent organization of the Forum with significant participation of numerous politicians, corporations and investors. He supported the Government of Azerbaijan to continue identification of potential investment opportunities in Montenegro, whereby he especially emphasized sectors of tourism, energy and infrastructure.

The President Vujanović and President Aliyev stated that continuity of political dialogue at the highest level was an important factor of stimulus to cooperation at all the levels of bilateral relations. In that context, the President Vujanović expressed his expectation that the President Aliyev would soon pay a visit to Montenegro.

Baku, President Vujanović met with the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi
In the margins of Crans Montana Forum 2012 in Baku the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met with the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.

During the talks the President Vujanović expressed his special satisfaction over the comprehensive and intensive state relations between Montenegro and United Arab Emirates, to which our Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Embassy of UAE in Podgorica made maximum contribution. He pointed out that investors from the UAE could undoubtedly find room for investing in Montenegro, in particular in the field of tourism, maritime affairs and water supply. The President took the opportunity to express respect of Montenegro for the United Arab Emirates’ donation during the winter natural disaster in Montenegro.

Sheikh Al Sharqi confirmed the interest of United Arab Emirates capital to invest in Montenegro, stating that our state relations, which were founded on numerous inter-state contracts, were a good basis for that.

The President Vujanović and the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi confirmed that readiness of their governments to continue to offer all the necessary support so that interest of the companies from the United Arab Emirates and economy of Montenegro would result in new concrete investments. more
