Amman, President of Montenegro Meets King of Jordan
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović who is on an official visit to Jordan, met today with Jordanian King Abdullah II at the Royal Palace in Amman.

President Vujanović was welcomed in the capital of Jordan with the highest state and military honors.

In the long bilateral talks and open and constructive meeting of the delegations, the areas of cooperation were identified in the field of economy, and, accordingly, it was stated that the priority of cooperation lies in the field of trade, agriculture, water management, industry and tourism.

President Vujanović acquainted the King of Jordan that practically there is no trade exchange between the two countries but there are conditions to facilitate it at quality level. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović with UNICEF Regional Director
The President of Montenegro, Mr. Filip Vujanović received today the UNICEF Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States, Ms. Marie-Pierre Poirier.

President Vujanović expressed his gratitude and high respect for joint activities of UNICEF, state bodies and all stakeholders of the Montenegrin society that were involved in numerous and successful UNICEF projects in Montenegro. He expressed particular pleasure at the success of the campaign programs “Speaking about possibilities” for children with development disabilities, the projects of social inclusion as well as the projects of protection of all children’s rights. The President expressed pleasure that UNICEF and Montenegro had recently launched the project”Every child needs a family”, expecting that it will be successfully implemented.

The UNICEF Regional Director Poirier noted that Montenegro is a reliable partner of UNICEF and that it showed, by participating and supporting the numerous programs of this specialized agency, that it is a role model of the region, expecting it to continue to be so.

Podgorica, President of Montenegro Receives Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović receives today the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey Cemil Çiçek who pays an official visit to Montenegro with his delegation.

President Vujanović expressed pleasure at continuous support of Turkey to Montenegro in its Euro-Atlantic integration and expectation that it will be continued, declaring readiness for cooperation in European integration. He noted outstanding state relations as well as pleasure at the exchange of official visits with the President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül, and intensive cooperation between the two governments and economic chambers for the purpose of already good economic cooperation. He also expressed appreciation for the activities of TIKA in Montenegro having a particular respect for the priorities of local communities.

The Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey Çiçek expressed his pleasure with excellent parliamentary cooperation, describing his visit as an important contribution to the friendly state relations between Montenegro and Turkey. He agreed that good state relations should be promoted to extend economic cooperation, starting from the mutual interest and room for cooperation. more

PUBLIC CALL

For election of the two judges of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro,/b>

In addition to the application for this public call, candidates are required to submit the evidence of fulfilling the conditions prescribed by the Constitution for the Constitutional court judges and general conditions for the work in a state body.

The deadline for submitting the application is 15 days from the date of publication of this call.

The applications shall be submitted to the President of Montenegro – Cabinet of the President, Podgorica, Bulevar Svetog Petra Cetinjskog 12.

The Public Call shall be deemed announced on the day of its publication in the “Official Gazette of Montenegro” and in one of the printed media with a seat in Montenegro. more

Brussels, President of Montenegro with the Secretary General of NATO
President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met today with the Secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen in the headquarters of NATO in Brussels.

Following the meeting, the President Vujanović and Secretary General of NATO gave media statements:

Secretary General of NATO - Rasmussen said that it was his great pleasure that he could greet the President Vujanović in the headquarters of NATO.

“Montenegro is an important partner for the Alliance and a strong candidate for membership in NATO. In today’s talk we emphasized importance of our political engagement. We spoke about progress in the field of reforms in Montenegro and cooperation of Montenegro and NATO”, he said.

Rasmussen praised the continuous efforts aimed at accession of Montenegro to NATO and EU and congratulated to Montenegro on the implemented reforms. more

Brussels, President Vujanović – President of the European Commission
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met today in Brussels with the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso.

The President Vujanović and the President of the European Commission held a press conference.
The President Vujanović thanked for the support offered to Montenegro by the European Commission on its European path and accomplishment of its strategic goal.

I would first of all like to point out three things – first, we are satisfied that we closed the screening and proved that Montenegro can fulfill the EU requirements and overcome the obstacles in this process. Of course, we worked in cooperation with the EU experts as well as with the EU member states’ experts and we expect to be further supported in this respect. Secondly, we are satisfied that we succeeded to open and temporarily close the chapters 25 and 26, which are related to science and research, culture and education. It is very important for our institutions and experts in these fields and it represents a new stimulus for them. And thirdly, I would like to express my pleasure over the fact that Montenegro met the requirements and it is now in the position to expect opening 23rd and 24th Chapter. It is very important for the future of our European integration. more

The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met today in the Royal Palace in Brussels with H.M. King of the Belgians Philippe I.

The President Vujanović thanked to the King Philippe I for the support to Montenegro in the process of its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, especially emphasizing that we were going through an important period of these processes for Montenegro.

President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met today in Brussels with the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

The President expressed his pleasure with the opportunity to meet with the President of the European Parliament and said that he had an open, friendly and constructive meeting, at which he took the opportunity to express his gratefulness to the European Parliament for the support to the enlargement process of the European Union and for all it did for Montenegro for the purpose of achievement of its strategic goal.

The President exchanged views with Schulz about many issues, on which occasion the President of the European Parliament said that Montenegro was a reliable partner of the European Union. Brussels, President of Montenegro with the President of the European Council
At the beginning of his several-days visit to Brussels, the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met today with the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.

The President expressed his pleasure of meeting with President Rompuy today. “It was an opportunity to inform him on the Montenegro’s progress in the field of European integration and to express my pleasure in this regard. We are waiting now for the opening of chapters 23 and 24 and I think it will be a new contribution on our European path. It will be very important to Montenegro as well as to the countries of the region and it will represent a new stimulus giving them a new dynamics on the European path. It will be important to the EU as well, sending a message that the enlargement process is still ongoing”, the President said.

President Vujanović emphasized that he informed President Rompuy on the initiative of the presidents of Slovenia and Croatia on holding the joint meeting with the Western Balkan countries, on which occasion a very successful meeting took place in Slovenia with the President of France François Hollande taking part in this meeting. more

Podgorica, President Vujanović receives the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon.

The President Vujanović thanked for the support and assistance of the Council of Europe to the reforms in Montenegro as well as recognition of Montenegro as a good example of the region. He expressed full dedication of Montenegro to continue the partnership with the Council of Europe and conviction that Montenegro would remain its reliable member.

Cetinje, President of Montenegro Received the Letter of Credence from the Newly-appointed Ambassador of France
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received today in Cetinje the letter of credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of France Veronica Brumo.

The President Vujanović emphasized his great respect for the contribution of France to our European and Euro-Atlantic integration, convinced that by soon opening of the chapters 23 and 24 the process of European integration would be dynamically continued. He expressed his satisfaction over the very comprehensive and constructive meeting with the President of the Republic of France Francois Hollande in July this year as well as successful visits of the French Minister for European Relations to Montenegro and our Ministers of Justice and Agriculture to France, convinced that these visits would strengthen the traditional closeness of Montenegro and France.

The Ambassador Brumo stated that our traditional friendship had to be a basis for continuation of very close relations and taking the opportunities for new partnerships. Cetinje, President Vujanović received the letter of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of Austria
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received the letter of credence from the Ambassador of Austria, Johann Frohlcih.

The President Vujanović expressed his respect to Austria for the strong and continuous support to our European integration, expecting that the same would be continued and thus contribute to good dynamics of that process. He expressed his satisfaction over the intensive and close relations of the two states, assessing that there was room to extend the economic cooperation. The President stated high respect for the support to concrete economic projects, particularly the elevator on the hill near Kotor and Kotor-Cetinje cable car.

Ambassador Frohlich stated that Montenegro was a reliable partner of the EU in the process of its accession and that, supporting the European integration; the good dynamics of that process was real. Podgorica, President Vujanović received the representatives of LGBTIQ
The President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović received the representatives of LGBTIQ Association Queer Montenegro, led by Danijel Kalezić, President of the Administrative Committee of this Association, which will organize the Pride Parade in Podgorica on October 20th.

Mr. Kalezić informed the President Vujanović about topical issues from the scope of Association’s activities with an accent on the concept of organization of the announced Pride Parade. Significance of the security aspect and support of the representatives of the state of Montenegro to organization of the Pride Parade was emphasized, for the purpose human rights protection of LGBT population.

The President Vujanović stated that respect of the right to be different as well as prevention of any discrimination was essence of a tolerant society which we have to promote jointly, especially among young generations. Expecting tolerant relations towards the forthcoming Pride Parade in Podgorica the President conveyed his conviction that the competent authorities would take all measures to ensure the right to peaceful expression of this type of difference. more
